Fellowship of AMASI

AMASI has instituted certification in minimally invasive surgery through its Fellowship course. The ‘Skill Course’ in Minimal Access Surgery represents a milestone in surgical education in our country in providing post-residency training to surgeons across India for an incumbent and rapidly evolving field, on a nationwide basis. The conglomerate of new technology, new techniques and new outlook has prompted the introduction of this formalized pattern of learning.


The eligibility criteria to earn the “Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery” certificate are:

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the – 20th AMASI Skill Course and Fellowship Examination. The skill course is the part of academic and accreditation activity of The Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, the largest section of ASI.

The aim of this skill course is to attempt standardization of Laparoscopic Techniques and to update our knowledge in keeping with current trends. During the course of three days we will try to provide comprehensive knowledge from basic to advanced laparoscopic surgery. Taking into consideration the feedback from previous skill courses, a conscious decision has been made to devote more time and discussion for commonly performed procedures.

A written, practical & viva voce examination will be conducted on the last day of the skill course. Successful candidates will be awarded Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS).

Greetings from the department of Surgical Gastroenterology, JIPMER Puducherry. It gives us immense pleasure to welcome you to the 21st AMASI skill course and CME on advances in laparoscopic surgery. The skilled course is part of the academic and accreditational activities of the

The course targets postgraduate students of surgery and Surgical Gastroenterology as well as practising surgeons. (Candidates should satisfy all the following criteria)

1. Applying candidates should be an AMASI Member or Apply with New Membership application

2. MCI recoginzed MS/DNB/MCh Degree

3. Should have undergone AMASI Skill Course

4. Performing Basic Laparoscopic Procedure individually (atleast Two years) after complete MS (general Surgery), DNB (general Surgery
